Level Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair



AR32.31-P-0650T Remove/Install Level Control Valve Unit
- with CODE (489) AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension)







CAUTION: See special information on AIRmatic

1 Empty AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS
2.1 Remove bottom section of noise encapsulation at front
2.2 Remove front section of engine compartment paneling
3 Disconnect plug on AIRmatic pressure sensor (B7)
4 Unplug valve unit connector (Y36/6x1)
5 Disconnect pressure line connections (VL, VR, HA, SP, P)

CAUTION: Observe assignment of pressure lines!

NOTE: Seal off pressure lines with blind plugs for the duration of the repair work.

- If pressure line connections or pressure lines are damaged, repair AIRmatic pressure line connection.

6 Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove level control valve unit (Y36/6)
7 Install in the reverse order
8 Fill AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS

CAUTION: While filling the wheels should have no contact with the ground, as when filling in the compressed condition the air spring bellows in the spring element is destroyed.

NOTE: Fill to 5 bar.

9 Check AIRmatic for leaks.
