Checking Supporting Joint and Follower Joint Of Steering Knuckle Bearing (Removed)

Remove
1 Remove steering knuckle

NOTE: Do not remove front wheel hub.

2 Remove upper transverse control arm

Inspect
3 Move the ball pin in all directions with an approximately 150 mm long pipe

NOTE: The ball pin should move without play and without seizing, and should not cause any grinding noises.

4 Check supporting joint boot (7f) and follower joint boot (8f) of joints for cracks and damage.
- If the boot does not seal properly then replace the supporting joint or upper transverse control arm.

Install
5 Install steering knuckle
6 Install upper transverse control arm.
