Inspect Front Axle Joint For Play, Inspect Rubber Boots

1 Check rubber boot (7f) on supporting joint for leakage and condition.

CAUTION: If the rubber boot (7f) is leaking:
- Install new supporting joint (7) or lower transverse control arm (4):
- Install new supporting joint (7)
- Install new lower transverse control arm (4)

2 Check rubber boot (18f) on ball joint of torque strut (18) for leakage and condition.

CAUTION: If the rubber boot (18f) is leaking: Install new torque strut (18).


3 Check rubber boot on follower joint for leakage and condition.

CAUTION: If rubber boot is leaking (e.g. grease flowing out): Replace upper transverse control arm.

4 Check follower joint for play

CAUTION: If there is play in the follower joint: Replace upper transverse control arm.
