AR46.10-P-0600-03T Remove/install motor for fore/aft adjustment
- with CODE (275) Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors)

Remove

Component Identification:





Upper steering shaft (70g) must not be extended completely. Upper steering shaft (70g) must be pushed at least 15 to 20 mm into jacket tube (71).

1.1 With functional fore/aft adjustment motor: Make electrical connection between fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) and battery by connecting green line of fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) to positive terminal and black line of fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) to negative terminal of battery. Reverse the terminals to change the rotation direction of the motor.

1.2 With non-functional fore/aft adjustment motor: Drive upper steering shaft (70g) into jacket tube (71) using suitable aluminum pin (077)

2 Remove nut (62a) from link rod (62).
3 Drive out upper steering shaft (70g) using suitable aluminum pin (076) until link rod (62) extends from bracket (70h) at jacket tube (71).

Component Identification:





4 Detach fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) from jacket tube (71) by removing bolts (1, 2, 3, 4).

Install
5 Attach fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) with link rod (62) to jacket tube (71).

The arch (arrow) of the link rod (62) must point away from the jacket tube (71).

6 Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) of fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1)

Component Identification:





7 Drive in upper steering shaft (70g) using suitable sleeve (077) until link rod (62) is inserted completely into bracket (70h) of jacket tube (71).
8 Install new self-locking nut (62a) and tighten.

9.1 When installing new fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1):

Adjust dimension (x) between jacket tube (71) and bracket (70h) at the nut (62b). To do this, make electrical connection if necessary, see step 1.1
