DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from hydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury to eyes and skin suffering caustic burns from battery electrolyte or from contact with damaged lead acid batteries.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked container.

1.1 Switch ignition off, remove key from electronic ignition switch EIS
1.2 Switch off engine and remove the Keyless Go transmitter key from the vehicle

NOTE: Keep the Keyless Go transmitter key out of transmitter range.

2 Switch TELE AID to Service mode
3 Remove trunk floor covering from trunk.
4 Remove spare wheel cover or spare wheel recess trim panel from trunk
5 Slacken nut (2) and disconnect ground cable (1) from battery (G1)
6 Install in the reverse order

CAUTION: All electrical consumers must be switched off, otherwise the electrical consumers may be damaged.

7 Perform basic programming
8 Read out DTC memory
9 Download basic STAR DIAGNOSIS data
