Location
The fuel tank is positioned at the frame floor ahead of the rear axle because of the through-loading facility (from trunk into passenger compartment).

Design
The fuel tanks is constructed in 2-layer plastic.The fuel tank is split into two chambers because of the "U"-shaped recess. The chambers are connected to each other.

Function
The swirl pot is located in the right fuel tank chamber of the fuel tank At a low fuel level and when cornering for long periods, the swirl pot guarantees sufficient and bubble-free fuel supply to the engine.
The swirl pot is filled with fuel via the right and left suction jet pumps. The fuel pump is located in the swirl pot, and pumps the fuel via the fuel strainer from the swirl pot to the fuel main filter.

The swirl pot with fuel pump and right suction jet pump is designed as a fuel feed module.
