The smooth running control reduces any rough running occurring in idle. To do this the CDI control unit (N3/9) reads in the crankshaft
Hall sensor (B70). The CDI control unit evaluates the signal from the crankshaft Hall sensor for its uniformity.
If deformities occur in the crankshaft Hall sensor signal, the CDI control unit then regulates the fuel pressure in the rail via the pressure regulator valve (Y74) and controls the injection timing via cylinder-specific actuation of the fuel injectors (Y76).
The fuel pressure in the rail and the injection time of fuel injectors produce the injection quantity.
