Engine Changes to Limp-Home Mode and/or Has Insufficient Power

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the engine changes to limp-home mode and/or has insufficient power, please follow the steps below to resolve.

1. Read out fault memory of CDI control unit.

2. Observe actual values of air mass and specified values of air mass in DAS fault freeze frame data.

3. If actual value for the air mass is greater than the specified value in DAS fault freeze frame data for fault code 2355-002, remove and examine the exhaust gas recirculation line.

4. Compare the exhaust gas recirculation line from the vehicle with Figure 1.

5. If distorted, replace the exhaust gas recirculation line. Refer to WIS document AR14.10-P-3915TI

- Remove/Install exhaust manifold (step 7, figure 4).

Note:
In Figure 1, the inner tube of the exhaust gas recirculation line is distorted or has contracted inwards. Due to this, the exhaust gas recirculation line is almost completely blocked.
