Automatic Transmission Occasionally Shifts Too Late or Does Not Shift Up
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the transmission occasionally only shifts at relatively high engine speeds or does not shift up and there are no fault codes stored, there is no malfunction and the concern can be resolved by recycling the ignition switch off and on again.
The cause for this shifting characteristic is that the engine has detected the need for a regeneration of the diesel particulate filter (necessary for vehicle emission control) for which higher engine speeds are required. DAS DVD 08/07 contains optimized software which must be installed in the transmission. The result is that the shift curve is only offset by a smaller amount which is less noticeable to the driver.
