MODEL YEARS 2006 - 2007
UPDATE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that the affected vehicles may have engine-related error messages and customer complaints concerning engine running characteristics. Dealers will update the engine control module software on the affected vehicles during the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin.
Approximately 200 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
Note:
Prior to starting the procedure ensure to:
^ Use DAS version 09/2007 with AddOns 0792 and 0803 or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS.
^ Connect battery charger to ensure sufficient power supply from vehicle on-board electrical system battery (greater than 12.5 V).
1. Connect Star Diagnosis.
2. Install engine control module software:
Follow the DAS path Control units/Drive/CDI Common Rail Diesel Injection/Control Unit Adaptations/Control Unit Programming and on-screen instructions.
3. Perform SCN coding of engine control module:
Continue with menu item: Control unit programming.
4. Perform short test and erase DTC's.
5. Disconnect Star Diagnosis.
