Air Conditioning System Only Runs in Emergency Operation Mode
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the climate control system is operating in a fixed or emergency operation mode, this may be due to a poor connection at connector C1 on the driver side SAM (N10/1). To resolve, perform the below procedure.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-0003T (sedans) or AR54.10-P-0003TA (wagon).
2. For vehicles prior to and including MY 2006, disconnect additional battery ground. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-0007T.
Note:
Before disconnecting connectors from the driver side SAM (N10/1), battery(s) must be disconnected to avoid damage to other control units.
3. Ensure connector C1 is fully inserted and locked into the driver side SAM.
