Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair



AR83.30-P-6520T Remove/Install Receiver Drier







Remove

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning. Inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors may be toxic. Risk of injury. Contact with liquid refrigerant may result in injury to the skin and eyes.
- Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or open flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.


CAUTION: Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work.

1 Drain air conditioning (recycle)

NOTE: Note quantity of extracted compressor oil.

2.1 Remove lower front engine compartment paneling
- On MODELS 211.042 /043 /061 /065 /070 /076 /080 /082 /083 /242 /243 /261 /265 /270 /276 /280 /282 /283

2.2 Remove bottom section of noise encapsulation at the front
- On MODELS 211.004/006/016/026/028/206/216/226

3 Unscrew screw (3) from fluid reservoir (1) and remove pressure plate (4)
4 Unscrew screws (5) and remove fluid reservoir (1) from condenser (2)

NOTE: Seal line openings, otherwise dirt and moisture may penetrate.

- Set of plugs for air conditioning system
See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

Install
5 Replace fluid reservoir (1)
6 Insert fluid reservoir (1) into the condenser (2) and screw in the screws (5)

NOTE: Replace sealing ring and moisten thread with compressor oil.

7 Insert pressure plate (4) at fluid reservoir (1) and secure in place with screw (3)
- Lines to fluid reservoir: 11 N.m

8.1 Install lower front engine compartment paneling
- On MODELS 211.042 /043 /061 /065 /070 /076 /080 /082 /083 /242 /243 /261 /265 /270 /276 /280 /282 /283

8.2 Install bottom section of noise encapsulation at the front
- On MODELS 211.004/006/016/026/028/206/216/226

9 Evacuate and fill air conditioning system

CAUTION: Incorrectly filled compressor oil quantity may result in damage to the refrigerant compressor.

- Additional oil filling capacity when replacing fluid reservoir: 10 cu.cm
- For Refrigerant compressor 7SEU16C

NOTE: Add noted quantity of compressor oil (new compressor oil) to air conditioning when filling, plus an additional quantity.

10 Check air conditioning system for leakage.
