Regulation of Automatic Air Conditioning, Function

GF83.40-P-2004T Regulation Of Automatic Air Conditioning, Function
- except CODE (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning

Component Identification:

Function
The automatic air conditioning (AAC) [KLA] is regulated via the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22). This is networked to the vehicle electronics. This in turn makes it possible to incorporate additional relevant parameters in order to improve regulation quality and to lower power consumption.

To regulate the automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]), the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) receives the following information:

Direct
^ Interior temperature in the knee area from the in-car temperature sensor (B10/4)
^ Temperature on the evaporator from the evaporator temperature sensor (B10/6)

Via CAN-B
^ Ground speed by the instrument cluster (A1)
^ Positions of windows from door control units (N69/1, N69/2, N69/3 and N69/4)
^ Terminal status from EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
^ Interior temperature in head area from the in-car temperature sensor (N70b1) via the overhead control panel control unit (N70)
^ Position of tilting/sliding roof from overhead control panel control unit (N70)
^ Door status from door contact switches (S17/3, S17/4, S17/5 and S17/6) via the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
^ Outside temperature from outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14) via the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
^ Refrigerant pressure from refrigerant pressure sensor (B12) over the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) or
refrigerant pressure and temperature from refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor (B12/2) via the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1),

Via LIN
^ Air humidity from the air humidity sensor (B31/2)

The following components are actuated to regulate the automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]):

Via CAN-B
From the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
^ Refrigerant compressor (A9)
^ Heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
From the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11):
^ Coolant circulation pump (M13)

Via CAN-C
From the CDI control unit (N3/9) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10):
^ AAC with integrated control additional fan motor (M4/7)

Via LIN
^ Blower motor (A32m1) via blower regulator (A32n1)
^ for air distribution the:
- fresh air/air recirculation flaps actuator motor (M2/5)
- left blend air flap actuator motor (M2/6)
- right blend air flap actuator motor (M2/7)
- left and right footwell flaps actuator motor (M2/15)
- left and right defroster flaps actuator motor (M2/16)
- center air outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22)
^ Heater booster (R22/3)
