AR83.40-P-6350TA Remove/Install Push Button Control Unit
- Control and operating unit in rear











1 Press left release (2) on the stowage box cover (3) and open the stowage box cover (3)
2 Remove inner lip from stowage box (3)
3 Lift up floor panel (4) and remove from stowage box (3)
4 Unclip rear wall (5) of the stowage box (3) using a screwdriver (6)
5 Move front passenger seat to front-most position

NOTE: See Operating Instructions.

6 Disconnect ground cable of battery
7 Unplug electrical connector (7)
- On vehicles with code (581b) convenience automatic air conditioning.

8 Disconnect electrical plug (8)
9 Unclip stowage compartment (9) with assembly wedge (15) from stowage box (3) and place to the side
- See "Special Tools" given below.

10 Unscrew bolts (10).
11.1 Unlock detent hooks (11) and remove center nozzle (12) with the air nozzle operating module (1) from the stowage box (3)
- On vehicles without code (581b) comfort automatic air conditioning.

NOTE:
1. Unlock the hooks using a screwdriver. Slide the screwdriver through the ventilation grid of the center air nozzle (12).
2. Installation: Detent hooks (11) must audibly snap into place.

11.2 Unlock detent hooks (11) and remove center air nozzle (12) with the control panel rear switch group (S81) from the stowage box (3)
- On vehicles with code (581b) convenience automatic air conditioning.

NOTE:
1. Unlock the hooks using a screwdriver. Slide the screwdriver through the ventilation grid of the center air nozzle (12).
2. Installation: Detent hooks (11) must audibly snap into place.

12 Unclip both levers (13) on the center air nozzle (12) (arrows)

CAUTION: Carefully unclip the levers (13), otherwise they may crack.

13.1 Unscrew screws (14) and remove the air nozzle operating module (1) from the center air nozzle (12)
- On vehicles without code (581b) comfort automatic air conditioning.

13.2 Unscrew screws (14) and remove the control panel rear switch group (S81) from the center air nozzle (12)
- On vehicles with code (581b) convenience automatic air conditioning.

14 Install in the reverse order.
