Auxiliary Cabin Heater Fuel Pump: Service and Repair
AR83.70-P-5652T Remove/Install Fuel Metering Pump
- with CODE (228) Stationary heater
1 Disconnect battery ground line
2 Unplug electrical connector (2)
3 Disconnect fuel hoses (1) with clamps (3)
- See "Special Tools" given below.
4 Disconnect fuel hoses (1) at the STH fuel metering pump (Y23)
NOTE: Collect escaping fuel with a cloth.
5 Remove STH fuel metering pump (Y23) from the rubber mounts (4)
NOTE: Installation: observe direction of installation.
6 Install in the reverse order.
NOTE: Ensure that the fuel hoses (1) are securely seated and not leaking.
DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from fuel vapors, risk of poisoning from inhaling combustion gases and risk of injury from burns during and after operation of heater unit
- Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves.
7 Start up stationary heater
- If the STH heater switches off automatically before reaching its operating temperature and cannot be restarted again, a fault interlock is present, To clear a fault interlock, refer to Star Diagnosis.
