Special Tools:

Component Identification:

1 Connect new oil pump chain (2) and old oil pump chain (1) with assembly link (3.1), outer plate (3.2) and assembly locking element (3.3).

Component Identification:

2 Slowly rotate crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation (arrowed) until it is possible to connect the ends of the new oil pump chain (2).
3 Remove assembly locking element (3.3), assembly outer plate (3.2) and assembly connecting link (3.1). Place old oil pump chain (1) to the side.

Component Identification:

4 Connect the ends of the new oil pump chain (2) with a new riveted link (4).

Insert riveted link (4) from the rear.

Component Identification:

5 Place assembly insert (6) with digit F2 into riveting tool (5) and attach.

Component Identification:

6 Place assembly insert (7) with the digit D5 into the riveting tool (5).

Component Identification:

7 Place new outer plate (8) into the assembly insert (7).

The outer plate (8) is held by a magnet.

Component Identification:

8 Fit on rivet press tool (5).

Place rivet press tool (5) in such a way that the spacer webs (arrow) lie on the rolls of the riveted link.

9 Tighten pressure screw on rivet press tool (5) until a firm resistance is felt.

While turning the screw ensure that pins of the riveted link are inserted into the holes of the outer plate (8).

10 Take off riveting tool (5).

Component Identification:

11 Transfer assembly insert (7) with the digit D5 on the riveted section (arrow).

Component Identification:

12 Fit on rivet press tool (5) exactly above the center of the pin (arrow).

Rivet every pin of the riveted link individually.

13 Tighten thrust spindle at riveting tool (5).
14 Take off riveting tool (5).

Component Identification:

15 Check riveting (arrows) and re-rivet if required.
