Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair



AR83.25-P-1140T Remove/Install Heat Exchanger Shutoff Motor







DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.


1 Allow pressure in coolant circuit to escape

NOTE: To do this, carefully open reservoir cover and close again.

2 Remove wiper system
3 Unclamp heating water hose (1)
- See "Special Tools" given below.

4 Remove hose clamp and disconnect heating water hose from heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
5 Push rubber boot (3) from engine partition and release securing clips (2)
6 Detach connecting pipe from heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
7 Remove heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
8 Disconnect electrical connector from heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
9 Remove rubber boot (3)
10 Install in the reverse order.
11 Check and correct engine coolant level.
