Noises from Head Restraint/Head Restraint Guide
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of noises coming from the head restraint and/or the head restraint guide, replace only the head restraint guide per the below steps to resolve. Do not replace the head restraint itself. Follow the steps below to correct.
1. Remove the restraint guides using extraction hook, W140 589 02 33 00, 2 needed per repair. Refer to WIS document AR91.16-P-0050T (211) or AR91.16-P-0050TX (219).
2. Install optimized head restraint guides. Refer to WIS document AR91.16-P-0050CW.
Note:
When installing the optimized head restraint guides, it is important to ensure that the position of the securing clamp is correct. Refer to Figure 1 (correct positioning), Figure 2 (incorrect positioning) and Figure 3 (overview).
