- with CODE (434) Right dynamic seat including multicontour seat
Component Identification:
Function requirements:
^ Circuit 15 ON (ignition key in position 2)
^ No undervoltage or overvoltage
^ No leakage position in air cushion lateral support
^ Seat must be occupied (passenger-side only)
^ Child seat not mounted
Function (described on left front seat)
The "dynamic lateral support" function is switched on or off by pressing the left front DYNAMIC switch (S109/1). The status ON or OFF is saved when the function conditions no longer apply. If the function is activated, an LED in the left front DYNAMIC switch (S109/1) indicates it.
For the dynamic handling control system function, the lateral support is automatically adjusted as required by a basic pressure in the lateral support cushions.
When cornering, a brief application of pressure in the outside lateral support cushions serves to additionally improve the lateral support. This happens essentially dependent on the instantaneous speed and the lateral acceleration. Depending on the ground speed and lateral acceleration - the data are forwarded over the CAN interior - the left front dynamic seat control unit (N32/19) actuates the valves of the air cushion lateral support (1). The air required to inflate the seat cushions is generated by the pneumatic pump for dynamic seat control (M40/1).
A menu in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) can be used to select between two stages:
^ Stage 1: Low sensitivity to lateral acceleration
^ Stage 2: High sensitivity to lateral acceleration
In Stage 2 the dynamic handling control system functionality can be perceived at low lateral acceleration.
The dynamic handling control system function on the passenger-side is not activated until after roughly 1 min, because the seat occupied recognition indicates whether the seat is occupied or not.
If the left front DYNAMIC switch (S109/1) is pressed for longer than 2 min, the switch signal is ignored an error is stored.
In the event of on-board electrical system limp-home the function is switched off and switches back on again automatically once the limp-home mode has been ended. If important data (v-signal or lateral acceleration) for the dynamic handling control system function fail for longer than 2 s, the function is switched off and remains switched off.
