The two previous graphics portray the corrosion prevention measure employed at the Sindelfingen plant, starting with the pretreatment on the body-in-white and culminating in the assembly of the painted and protected body. The indicated temperatures are the surface temperatures of the bodywork.

The first illustration shows the process used for water-based paint, while the second portrays the sequence employed for solvent-based paints.

The following sections and documents show how design features, production sequences, finish-application procedures and the use of special materials achieve reliable protection against corrosion for passenger vehicles manufactured at the Sindelfingen facility.
