Water Drips Out Of Trunk Lid
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of water dripping out of the open trunk lid, the water may enter through the trunk lid stops. Follow the procedure below to resolve this condition.
1. Unscrew the trunk lid stops.
2. Use a square bit to screw the buffer in by 2.5 turns (Figure 1).
3. Starting at the body (Figure 2), wrap butyl sealing profile into the threads all the way to the end (Figure 3), making sure that the butyl profile fits tightly, and press it down. The butyl profile must also touch the base. Length of butyl profile approx. 18 cm.
4. Fold back the remaining seal, wrap it all the way back and spread it along the threads (Figure 4).
5. Use a square bit to turn the buffer 25 turns back to its original position (Figure 5); distance 11 +/- 1 mm!
6. Coat the underside/base (Figure 6).
7. Screw the trunk lid stops in loosely.
8. Pull buffer outwards in direction of arrow (Figure 7).
9. Close and reopen the trunk lid.
10. Push buffer two notches inward and then tighten to 4 Nm.
