GF54.65-P-4104-01T Warning Display, Function
- with CODE (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)

The visual warnings takes place via LED displays. A display page consists of 6 yellow and 2 red LEDs.
This functional readiness is signaled by the first yellow LED with reduced current (half-bright).
If the vehicle rolls towards an obstacle and thus into the monitoring range, the first yellow LED lights up with full brightness. The nearer the vehicle gets to an obstacle, the more yellow LEDs are actuated.
If the distance to the obstacle reduces to 30 cm, the first red LED lights up and when the minimum distance of 20 cm is reached the second red LED lights up.
When the first red segment (3) lights up in addition an intermittent signal sounds. When the second red segment (3) lights up the intermittent signal becomes a continuous signal.
The warning tones of the center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) and rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3) have a different frequency in order to guarantee a better differentiation.

The brightness of the LEDs depends on the conditions of the surroundings, for example, darkness, twilight or driving through a tunnel.
The brightness is reduced to 30% of the maximum brightness.

In the event of a malfunction (signal interruption, sensor failure) all the red LEDs are actuated.
If the malfunction also occurs while driving, it is stored as a system fault and displayed until the next activation. After a further 20 seconds the center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) or rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3) switches off, a continuous tone sounds for 3 seconds.
