MODEL 203 as of 1.6.05 up to Model Year 8

Exterior light OFF delay time, function
When the vehicle is unlocked, the following lights illuminate the surroundings for a time interval (A1) set in the instrument cluster:
- Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
- Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
- Left taillamp and parking lamp (E3e2)
- Right taillamp and parking lamp (E4e2)
- Left front fog lamp (E5/1)
- Right front fog lamp (E5/2)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
- Right license plate lamp (E19/2)

The time interval can only be set to the status "ON" or "OFF".The "ON" status corresponds to a time period of t = 15 s

Function requirements:
- The headlamp switch-off delay is activated via the instrument cluster (A1).
- Status "c. 61 ON" and status "c. 15C ON" are present.
- The automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) signals "Darkness".

Function sequence
If the function requirements are present, the headlamp switch-off delay is activated for t = 60 s. This time is independent from the time interval set in the instrument cluster (A1). When a door or the trunk lid is opened, the time interval t = 60 s is started again. This applies each time a door or the trunk lid is opened during the interval. When the last door is closed, the time interval selected in the instrument cluster (A1) is activated.

Headlamp switch-off delay interrupted, function
When the status "c. 15C ON" is changed, the function is interrupted until the next activation.

On vehicles with code (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) the headlamp switch-off delay is also interrupted when the antitheft alarm system (ATA) triggers an alarm.

Deactivate function
When time interval is set to "OFF" in the instrument cluster (A1), the headlamp switch-off delay is deactivated.

Ambient illumination, function
When the vehicle is unlocked, the following lights illuminate the surroundings for a time interval (A1) set in the instrument cluster:
- Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
- Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
- Left taillamp and parking lamp (E3e2)
- Right taillamp and parking lamp (E4e2)
- Left front fog lamp (E5/1)
- Right front fog lamp (E5/2)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
- Right license plate lamp (E19/2)

Function requirements:
- The headlamp switch-off delay is activated via the instrument cluster (A1).
- The vehicle is unlocked with the transmitter key (A8/1).
- The automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) signals "Darkness".

Function sequence
If the function requirements are present, the headlamp switch-off delay is activated for t = 40 s. The function is terminated when the driver door is opened

Activation on vehicles with code (494) USA version
When the rotary light switch (S1s1) is turned to the "Auto" position, the headlamp switch-off delay can be activated.
