GF82.20-P-2025A Automatic Interior Light Actuation, Function

GF82.20-P-2025A Automatic Interior Light Actuation, Function

MODEL 203 up to Model Year 8

Automatic actuation of dome lamps
The automatic actuation of dome lamps in the dark is triggered by the following actions:
- Unlocking the entire vehicle
- Unlocking of driver door
- Opening an unlocked door
- Removing the transmitter key (A8/1) from the electronic starter switch of the EIS control unit (N73)

When unlocking the driver door or the overall vehicle and when removing the transmitter key (A8/1) the dome lamps integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70) and the rear dome lamp are switched on simultaneously and dimmed.

When opening an unlocked door, only the front or rear dome lamp that is allocated to the door is switched on dimmed.

Exception for vehicles with code (450) taxi version. When opening the unlocked driver or front passenger door both dome lamps are switched on dimmed.

For the automatic actuation of the dome lamps by means of unlocking or opening a door or by removing the transmitter key (A8/1), the ambient light condition data at any given time is required. The overhead control panel control unit (N70) reads out the automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1).

On vehicles with code (882b) interior monitoring (only with ATA) an alarm also triggers the automatic front and rear dome lamp actuation in addition to the optical and acoustic anti-theft alarm system (ATA) alarm. The dome lamps are then immediately actuated irrespective of the ambient light and without being dimmed. At under or overvoltage automatic actuation of the dome lamps is not performed in order to protect the battery. A previously triggered actuation is immediately canceled - except where the ATA alarm triggered it. The automatic dome lamp actuation can be switched off using the dome lamp switch (N70s3) integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70).

Automatic actuation of the entrance and exit lamps in the doors
The exclusive automatic actuation of the entrance and exit lamps is triggered in the dark by the opening of a door. In each case only the lamp assigned to the door actually opened is switched on. The lamps involved are supplied with voltage by the corresponding control units as follows:
- The left front door control unit (N69/1) actuates the entrance and exit lamp of the left front door (E17/3).
- The right front door control unit (N69/2) actuates the entrance and exit lamp of the right front door (E17/4).
- The left rear door control unit (N69/3) actuates the entrance and exit lamp of the left rear door (E17/5) (except model 203.7).
- The right rear door control unit (N69/4) actuates the entrance and exit lamp of the right rear door (E17/6) (except model 203.7).

Ambient lamp
As of 24.4.04 an ambient lamp (A67e3) is installed, which is used for ambiance illumination. The ambient lamp (A67e3) is switched on with circuit 15R "ON" and switched off with circuit 15R "OFF".

On vehicles with code (345a) rain sensor, except code (413) panoramic sliding roof (model 203.7) and except code (414a) electric glass tilting/sliding roof (model 203.0/2), the ambient lamp (A67e3) is switched on as soon as the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) is activated (e.g. unlocking). The ambient lamp (A67e3) is switched off 30 min after locking has been detected and CAN-B has been deactivated by the overhead control panel control unit (N70).
