The electronic control and regulation of interior temperature, air volume and air distribution is performed by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) depending on the preselected settings and the following information:
- Interior temperature, detected by the in-car temperature sensor in the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) and additionally by the in-car temperature sensor in the overhead control panel control unit (N70) (up to 31.5.02 and as from 1.6.05)
- Position of the tilting/sliding roof (SHD) (for model 203.0/2 with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof) or panoramic tilting/ sliding roof (for model 203.7 with code (413) Panoramic sliding roof), read in by overhead control panel control unit (N70)
- Position of windows, read in by door control units (N69/1, N69/2, N69/3, N69/4)
- Air humidity, captured by the air humidity sensor (up to 28.6.06), read in by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22)
- Ambient temperature, detected by outside temperature display temperature sensor, read in by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Battery voltage, coolant temperature and engine speed, read in by EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
- Ground speed, read in via instrument cluster (A1)
- Pressure and temperature of refrigerant, detected by refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor, read in by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Evaporator temperature, detected by evaporator temperature sensor, read in by AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22)
