GF77.20-P-2022PP Rain Closing, Sliding/Pop-Up Roof, Function
GF77.20-P-2022PP Rain Closing, Sliding/Pop-Up Roof, Function
- with CODE (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof
- with CODE (345) Rain sensor
- except CODE (491) USA version
- except CODE (460) Additional parts, Canadian vehicles
- up to Model Year 8
Function requirements:
- Vehicle locked
- Sliding/pop-up roof in "Open sliding roof" position
Function
Rain closing of the sliding/pop-up roof is actuated as follows:
- Moistening of the windshield is recognized by the rain/light sensor (B38/2).
- 12 h after vehicle was last locked
- The rain/light sensor (B38/2) is no longer within its operating voltage or operating temperature range.
When the sliding/pop-up roof is in the open sliding roof position when the vehicle is locked, the rain/light sensor (B38/2) is activated by the overhead control panel control module (N70) for rain closing.
If the rain/light sensor (B38/2) recognizes moistening of the windshield during monitoring, it wakes up the overhead control panel control module (N70).
The overhead control panel control module (N70) transmits the command "Close sliding/pop-up roof due to rain" to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the passenger compartment CAN bus and activates the automatic procedure to move the sliding/pop-up roof to the pop-up position. Further monitoring is not accomplished then.
The excessive force limitation is effective during rain closing and reverses directions if applicable. Monitoring by the rain/light sensor (B38/2) is no longer accomplished following reversing
On vehicles with code (551a) anti-theft alarm system (ATA) and with code (882b) interior protection system (only with ATA) the alarms from the interior protection system (IPS) are suppressed during rain closing When the procedure is completed the interior protection system (IPS) is reactivated unless it was deactivated previously.
