Preset "Selective" or "Global"
Depending on the presetting on the transmitter key (A8/1), the vehicle is unlocked globally or selectively when the "Unlock" transmit button is pressed.
Conversion in both directions is possible by simultaneously pressing the "Unlock" and "Lock" transmit buttons on the transmitter key (A8/1) for approx. 5 s.
Unlock selectively:
Only the driver door and the fuel filler flap unlocked (as well as the interior central locking (CL [ZV]) switch (up to 23.4.04) or the 'Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (as of 24.4.04) and the 'Lock CL [ZV]' interior switch (as of 24.4.04) are enabled).Only the next actuation of the "Unlock" transmit button unlocks the entire vehicle.
Unlock globally:
The entire vehicle is unlocked (as well as the interior central locking (CL [ZV]) switch (up to 23.4.04) or the Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (as of 24.4.04) and the 'Lock CL [ZV]' interior switch (as of 24.4.04) are enabled).
Function sequence using "Unlock globally" as example
When the "Unlock" transmit button on the transmitter key (A8/1) is actuated, it transmits a signal to window antenna amplifier module 2 (A2/72) via radio. This signal is relayed via the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to the EIS control unit (N73).
An infrared signal is transmitted parallel to the radio signal to the left front IR receiver unit (A26/1) or the right front IR receiver unit (A26/2) (precise access required) This signal is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) or right front door control unit (N69/2) and is transmitted via the CAN B (CAN B) to the EIS control unit (N73).
The EIS control unit (N73) checks the access authorization of the transmitter key (A8/1). If the access authorization is valid, the EIS control unit (N73) transmits the "Lock" command via CAN B (CAN B) to the left front door control unit (N69/1), right front door control unit (N69/2), left rear door control unit (N69/3), right rear door control unit (N69/4) and rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
These then actuate the:
- right front door CL motor (M14/5),
- left front door CL motor (M14/6),
- left rear door CL motor (M14/8),
- right rear door CL motor (M14/9) and
- fuel filler flap CL motor (M14/10)
to unlock the vehicle.
The opening request of the exterior actuation trunk lid switch (S88/8) and trunk lid emergency release switch (only model 203.0) is permitted
The overhead control panel control unit switches on the interior illumination
Visual feedback
After unlocking, the EIS control unit (N73) transmits the corresponding request to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via CAN B (CAN B)
The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates as "turn signal master" the CL turn signaling
The
- left turn signal lamp (E1e5) and
- right turn signal lamp (E2e5)
are actuated by the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module, the
- left turn signal lamp (E3e1) and
- right turn signal lamp (E4e1)
by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2), the
- left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5)
by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and the
- right outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/6)
by the right front door control unit (N69/2)
are actuated three times each
