GF82.95-P-2015RM Display Of The TELE AID Function Status
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
A1p13 Left multifunction display
A1p15 Right multifunction display
State displays
The state display in the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) serves as a function check of the Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) system.
Switch-on characteristics
Every time the TELE AID system is switched on, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) signals system readiness by illuminating for 4 seconds. If there are no faults, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) goes out after 4 seconds.
Fault behavior
A TELE AID system error is present when the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch S93/3 does not go out 5 seconds after being switched on or when it comes on at a later time. In the event of a fault, an error messages is displayed on the left multifunction display (A1p13) and on right multifunction display (A1p15) in the instrument cluster (A1).
Triggering a TELE AID emergency call
After a TELE AID emergency call has been triggered, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) flashes with a frequency of one 1 Hz. In addition, a status message appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13) and on the right multifunction display (A1p15) in the instrument cluster (A1).
If a TELE AID emergency call could not be placed, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) lights up continuously. In addition, an error message appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13) and on the right multifunction display (A1p15) in the instrument cluster (A1). If a voice connection is established, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) returns to the same state as before the TELE AID emergency call was triggered. In addition, a status message appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13) and on the right multifunction display (A1p15) in the instrument cluster (A1).
If the TELE AID system is in the diagnosis mode, the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) also starts to flash.
A continuous illumination of the state display for the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) may have the following causes:
^ Power supply too low
^ No or incorrect subscriber identification module (SIM) card inserted
^ Communication with restraint system control unit (N2/7) interrupted
^ Error in communication with ESP, SPS and BAS control unit (N47-5)
^ Error on SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3)
^ Error in the Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna system
^ Error in reception with TELE AID backup antenna (A2/50) or telephone antenna (A2/22)
^ Vehicle is not authorized or is in the progress of authorization
^ Defective memory in the emergency call system control unit (N123/4)
^ The Personal Identification Number (PIN) was not stored in the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) by the user (operator) or at the factory
^ The telephone component integrated in the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) is faulty
The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) can be coded by means of STAR DIAGNOSIS so that even if there is no authorization, the state and error displays for the TELE AID system will not illuminate or be displayed on the left multifunction display (A1p13) and on the right multifunction display (A1p15) in the instrument cluster (A1). The dealer has the deactivation of the state display confirmed by the customer in writing using a preprinted form.
