VIII. Penetration by water into inside corner of C-pillar area

Cause 1:

Seal for C-pillar to upper C-pillar leaky.

Procedure:

Seal C-pillar seal.

--> See VI. Penetration by water into area of paneling joint for inside of Vario roof and C-pillar

Cause 2:

Outer C-pillar seal in C-pillar rail leaky.

Procedure:

Seal bottom C-pillar seal (sealing base) to C-pillar rail.

1. Perform rain test.

2. Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure (See WIS-document AR77.50-P-3000-01R).

Use Special Tool "Support".





3. Pull bottom C-pillar seal out of C-pillar rail.

Do not remove C-pillar seal.

4. Spray C-pillar rail.





^ In area of bottom sealing base (B-Figure 23).

^ Use sealant gun and window sealant for dabbing.

5. Reinstall in opposite order.

6. Perform leakage test.

Cause 3:

C-pillar rail to C-pillar leaky.

Procedure:

Seal C-pillar rail to C-pillar.

1. Perform rain test.

2. Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure (See WIS-document AR77.50-P-3000-01R).

Use Special Tool "Support".

3. Pull bottom C-pillar seal out of C-pillar rail.

Do not remove C-pillar seal.

4. Loosen C-pillar rail.

In bottom area (A-Figure 23).

5. Seal C-pillar rail to C-pillar.

Use sealant gun and window sealant for dabbing.

6. Reinstall in opposite order.

7. Perform leakage test.
