XII. Water Leak Below C-Pillar Corner Seal Shaped Part

XII. Penetration by water below molded part for sealing corner of C-pillar

Procedure: Seal C-pillar corner seal shaped part.

1. Perform rain test

2. Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure (See WIS-document AR77.50-P-3000-01R).

Use Special Tool "Support".

3. Remove seal from C-pillar corner.

Until third welding point is visible.





4. Plug opening in C-pillar with sealing tape (B-Figure 34). Use 12 x 1.5 mm butyl strip.

5. Lay sealing tape over sheet metal edge of C-pillar (D-Figure 34). Use 12 x 1.5 mm butyl strip.

6. Press on C-pillar corner seal.

7. Fasten surface (A-Figure 34) with glue. Use Loctite 401 (Local Purchase).

8. Apply sealant to opening in C-pillar corner seal (C-Figure 34). Use MB universal sealant.

From outside between C-pillar corner seal and sheet metal (E-Figure 34).

9. Completely close Vario roof.

10. Perform leakage test.
