Repair Materials:

Vario roof located in secured intermediate position and outer paneling on C-pillar upper section (2) removed.
Always replace carrier plate (1) because it is damaged during removal.

1. Unscrew nuts (3).
2. Remove carrier plate (1) from C-pillar top section (2).
3. Install butyl cord (4) on inner C-pillar seal (6) as illustrated.

In addition to sealing, the butyl cord (4) serves to ensure the height of the installation position of the carrier plate (1).

4. Position new carrier plate (1) on C-pillar top section (2) and align using feeler gauge (7) according to dimensions (A, B).

Dimension (A): Gap dimension between carrier plate (1) and heated rear window (R1).

Dimension (B): Distance between bottom edge of carrier plate (1) and rear window seal (5).

5. Screw nuts (3) tight.

Tighten nut (3) until it is flush with corresponding stud bolts. Do not tighten nuts (3) too tightly.
