Remove And Install Generator

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from hydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury to eyes and skin suffering caustic burns from battery electrolyte or from contact with damaged lead add batteries.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Disconnect ground line of battery

CAUTION:
- Do not connect a quiescent current retention unit in order to avoid a short-circuit

2 Remove right air intake tube (1)
3 Remove poly-V-belt of supercharger
4 Remove poly-V-belt (2)
5 Remove center engine compartment paneling
6 Disconnect electric cables (3/4) at generator

NOTE: Installation: Observe routing of line (3).

7 Unscrew bolts (5) of generator
8 Lift generator (G2) up and out
9 Install in the reverse sequence
10 Carry out functional test
