III. Penetration by water into area of paneling joint for Vario roof and A-pillar

Cause:





Gap (A-Figure 9) too large.

Procedure:

Check gaps (A-Figure 9) and adjust if necessary.

1. Perform rain test.

2. Partially open Vario roof.

3. Remove seal from A-pillar rail and from Vario roof rail.

Only at corners (left magnified section in Figure 9).

4. Completely close Vario roof.

5. Check gap (A-Figure 9).

Without seal
Use feeler gauge.
Nominal dimension: 5...55 mm, if value is not reached:

6. Correct rail on A-pillar.

Do not adjust seal on Vario roof at side, otherwise gap to C-pillar rail is increased.

7. Install seal on A-pillar rail and Vario roof rail.

8. Perform leakage test.
