The lock cylinder for the trunk lid lock is mechanically connected to the catch. The catch can be opened pneumatically with the pneumatic element or mechanically. The pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4) is read in by the rear SAM control module (N10/8). Using the state of the pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4), it can be determined whether the trunk lid is opened or closed. The locking operation is not actuated when the lock cylinder is in the 90° position.
In the 0° position trunk lid can be of the locking cylinder, the opened with trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) when the central locking has been unlocked globally.

The position of the trunk lid locking switch (S134) is recognized by the PSE control module (combined) (A37).
When the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) is actuated and the locking cylinder is held in the 30° position (counterclockwise), the trunk lid lock is released mechanically.

Opening with the mechanical key is always possible regardless central locking of the status of the system. An arm is triggered by the anti-theft alarm system ATA) by opening with the mechanical key. This can be switched off by inserting the remote control key into the DI control module (N73) or with the "Open/Close" signal from the remote control key (A8/1).
