Component sequence following installation (must be observed).
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
^ Sound amplifier (A2/13)
^ CD player with changer (A2/6)
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Fiber optical cables are given new consecutive numbers after installation of a new ring component (note direction of information flow).
Component Identification:
1 Disconnect sound amplifier connector housing (A2/13).
2 Unlock connector housing and remove white (ws) insert from sound amplifier connector housing (A2/13).
3 Insert new (M2) fiber optical cable module (new) with white (ws) insert into connector housing for sound amplifier (A2/13) and lock housing.
Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.
Length M2 (new) = 690 mm
4 Unlock new connector housing for CD player with changer (A2/6) and insert red insert (rt) from the new fiber optical cable module (M2) (new) into connector housing of CD player with changer (A2/6).
5 Insert white (ws) insert for (M3) fiber optical cable module into CD player with changer connector housing (A2/6) and lock connector housing.
6 Route fiber optical cable modules (M1, M2 and M3) in vehicle as shown in figure and connect individual fiber optical cable modules at corresponding connectors according to dimensions using insulating tape.
Insulation must end 50 mm in front of the connector housing.
7 Reconnect connector housing on CD player with changer (A2/6) and sound amplifier (A2/13).
