Trunk Lid Liftgate Handle Strip Procedure





Cross-hatch area shows rubber seal to be removed

Plastic Washer (1)
Outer Bolt (2)
a. cutting edge (rubber seal)

Procedure

When replacing the liftgate handle strip, follow the procedure below.

1. Cut open rectangular area of rubber seal (hatched area) (Figure 1) on both sides.

2. Remove the outer bolt (Figure 2) (2) and coat with preservation agent avoiding the bolt thread. Do not coat the bolt thread.

3. Install bolt (Figure 2) (2) again and repack wax into the joint.

4. Cut open plastic shim (Figure 1) (1). Cut one each on left and right bolt.

5. Mount handle strip.
