Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair



AR46.25-P-3020T Remove/Install Power Steering Radiator

Shown On Model 211.042:






1.1 Remove trim panels of cylinder head cover
1.2 Remove the engine intake air duct upstream of the left air cleaner
2 Extract oil from power steering pump supply reservoir
3 Remove right fanfare horn
4 Pull off sealing rubber (1) in the area of the radiator crossmember (2)
5 Loosen air dueling (3) from the radiator crossmember (2); to do this, detach body-bound rivet (4)
6 Unscrew bolts (5, 6)

NOTE: Installation: Align radiator crossmember (2), check safety hook and engine hood catches for locking.

7 Remove radiator crossmember (2)

NOTE: Unhook cable of engine hood catches at radiator crossmember (2).

8 Detach body-bound rivet (7) and remove air dueling (3)
9 Disconnect hydraulic lines (8) from radiator (9) of power steering

NOTE: Seal connections. Check condition of hose clamps and hydraulic lines and replace if necessary.

10 Lift radiator (10) out of the lower supports (11)

NOTE: Installation: Pay attention to correct seating of the radiator (10) in the lower supports (11).

11 Unclip radiator (9) of the power steering from the supports (12) on the radiator (10)
12 Install in the reverse order
13 Filling and bleeding power steering pump
14 Check function of power steering and for leaks
15 Check Distronic sensor adjustment and adjust if required.
