AR54.15-P-1257T Remove/Install Fuse and Relay Box In Engine Compartment












1 Remove left front SAM control module with fuse and relay box
2 Remove injection system control module
3 Remove cable duct seal (2)
4 Lift right wiring harness (3), disconnect electrical connector (6) and move right wiring harness (3) to one side

NOTE: Installation: Observe routing of electrical cables.

5 Lift left wiring harness (5) and remove control module box blower motor (M2/2) as well as from the fuse and relay box (F1) until the electrical connector on the control module box blower motor (M2/2) is accessible

NOTE: Installation: Observe routing of electrical cables.

6 Unplug electrical connector from control module box blower motor (M2/2) and remove control module box blower motor (M2/2)
7 Unclip bracket with relay (7) upwards from the fuse and relay box (F1)
8 Remove rear wiring harness (8) from the fuse and relay box (F1) and put to one side
9 Lift up center wiring harness (4), disconnect electrical connector (9) and put center wiring

NOTE: Installation: Observe routing of electrical cables.

10 Remove bolts (10)

NOTE: The screws (10) remain on the fuse and relay box (F1).

11 Open tie strap (11)

NOTE: Installation: Replace tie straps (11).

12 Detach coolant expansion reservoir (12) and place to one side with lines connected

NOTE: To do this, remove expanding clip.

13 Disconnect electrical connectors at the components which are connected to the left wiring harness (5), in the upper engine compartment

NOTE: The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment.

14 Unclip wiring harness bracket (13)
15 Detach ground leads from left wiring harness (5) at the ground points
16 Expose left wiring harness (5) in top of engine compartment

NOTE: Installation: Replace cable straps.

DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.


17 Lift vehicle on lifting platform.
18 Remove front left road wheel

- Wheel bolt: 130 N.m

19 Remove front section of fender liner in left front fender.
20 Unplug PTS electrical connector (14)
21 Open tie strap (15)

NOTE: Installation: Replace cable straps.

22 Unplug electrical connector (16)
23 Unclip plug assembly with bracket (17) from front longitudinal member

NOTE: To do this, press retainer tab (arrow) upwards and remove plug assembly with bracket to the side.

24 Unplug electrical connectors (18)
25 Separate electrical connectors (19)
26 Lower vehicle on lifting platform
27 Pull left wiring harness (5) up and out of engine compartment

NOTE: Pay attention to routing of line.

28 Remove fuse and relay box (F1) from the engine compartment and guide out all electrical lines.

NOTE: Pay attention to routing of line.

29 Remove fuse and relay box (F1)
30 Install in the reverse order
