Electric Seat, Mirror and/or Window Not Working
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that either the power window switch on the driver's side, the seat adjustment and/or the mirror adjustment switches are intermittently not working, either the seat adjustment switch or the mirror adjustment switch may be at fault. The switches may work again after the CAN bus goes to sleep and wakes up again which makes diagnosis in the workshop difficult. The following fault codes may be present.
950A - "signal from component S20/1 driver window switch group missing on the switching bus"
950B - "signal from component S91/2 left front seat adjustment switch group missing on the switching bus"
950C - "signal from component S50/1 exterior mirror adjustment switch with/without mirror fold in/fold out facility missing on the switching bus"
These are caused by a synchronization problem between the door control unit and the seat adjustment switch or mirror adjustment switch which has an effect on the power window switch although the switch is okay. Only the following seat adjustment switches and mirror adjustment switches are affected.
Note:
Not all seat or mirror adjustment switches with the below Q levels will malfunction. It only occurs with an unfavorable accumulation of tolerances. Therefore, only replace the seat adjustment or mirror adjustment switches if at least one of the above fault codes is stored in the door control unit. Do not replace the power window switch.
To resolve, always replace both the seat adjustment and mirror adjustment switch. Do not replace the window adjustment switch or the door control unit.
