Ignition System: Description and Operation
GF07.16-P-2000IC CDI Ignition ON, Function
Component Identification:
Functions for "ignition ON":
^ Engine control is achieved over the circuit 87 relay, engine (for model 211) or over the CDI relay (for model 220) by means of a voltage from "circuit 87"
^ For fuel predelivery, the fuel pump is actuated for approx. 30 seconds (only for first "Ignition ON")
^ To obtain a lamp check in the preglow indicator lamp and the engine diagnosis indicator lamp (or for model 211 (United States of America) the CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp) are actuated the instrument cluster for about 1 second
^ Preglowing through actuation of glow plugs over the glow output stage (or for model 211 (United States of America) over the glow time output stage)
^ Data exchange via the CAN databus (circuit 50 signal).
^ The fault memory can be read out and cleared via the data link connector.
^ Corrective programming can be carried out using STAR DIAGNOSIS via the diagnosis data link connector
