Load Compartment Illumination or Rear Dome Lamp Inoperative or Lights Up Briefly

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding the load compartment illumination or rear dome lamp not working or lights up only briefly, first check the setting in the instrument cluster per the below steps prior to any parts replacement.

1. If the off delay time for the interior illumination is set to "0s" in the instrument cluster, adjust the off delay time to some other value.

2. If the load compartment illumination or rear dome lamp now functions normally, this is an indication that a software error in the OCP is the source of the customer's complaint. Remove and replace the overhead control panel (OCP).

3. If the load compartment illumination or rear dome lamp still does not function normally, then troubleshoot the load compartment illumination or rear dome lamp.
