GF82.10-P-3003T Automatic Headlamp Actuation, Function
GF82.10-P-3003T Automatic Headlamp Actuation, Function
Component Identification:
By monitoring the rain/light sensor (B38/2) and the combination switch (S4), the overhead control panel control unit (N70) can actuate the automatic driving light actuation in rain or snow. The rain/light sensor (B38/2) monitors the intensity of the daylight and the light conditions in the direction of travel.
Function requirements:
^ The rotary light switch (S1) is in position "Auto".
Function at start of journey (in darkness)
^ With the key removed Exterior lights "Off"
^ Circuit 15C Exterior lights "Off"
^ Circuit 15R Standing lamps "ON"
^ Circuit 15 Standing lamps "ON"
^ Terminal 61 Standing lamp and low beam (high beam permissible) "On"
Function at end of journey (in darkness)
^ Terminal 61 Standing lamp and low beam (high beam permissible) "On"
^ Circuit 15 Standing lamp and low beam (high beam permissible) "On"
^ Circuit 15R Standing lamps "ON"
^ Circuit 15C Standing lamps "ON"
^ Key removed Exterior lights "Off"
Function when driving using the example of driving through a tunnel
The rain/light sensor (B38/2) reports the dark tunnel entrance to the overhead control panel control unit (N70) and transmits "darkness, driving lights On" to the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via CAN class B
The CAN message is relayed via CAN class B to the passenger- side SAM control unit (N10/11) and to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the standing lamp, low beam and high beam in the left front lamp unit (E1). The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the standing lamp as well as the low beam or high beam in the right front lamp unit (E2).
The actuation of the low beam or high beam depends on the position of the combination switch (S4).
The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the taillamps in the left taillamp (E3) and the right taillamp (E4) as well as (in model 211.0 only) the left license plate lamp (E19/1) and the right license plate lamp (E19/2). In model 211.2 the left license plate lamp (E19/1) and the right license plate lamp (E19/2) are actuated via the rear door control unit (N111). The rain/light sensor (B38/2) remains active in the tunnel and once there is a sufficient level of daylight at the tunnel exit, it initiates the automatic switching off of the driving lights.
On vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch, the signal from CAN class B is also transmitted to the trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit (N28/1), which applies the signal to the trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58).
