AR77.21-P-0600TA Remove/Install Rear Panoramic Glass Roof
- with CODE (413) Panoramic sliding roof
- with CODE (419) Solar module for panoramic roof


Illustrated On Left Side Of Vehicle With Front Glass Roof Removed:
















1 Prepare glue cartridge

NOTE: Warm-up time is at least 20 minutes.

2 Open side window in driver's door.
3 Cover rear seats and flooring to prevent them from becoming dirty
4 Remove paneling from rear panoramic glass roof (2)
5 Move panoramic roof to pop-up position
6 Remove headliner
7 Disconnect electrical connector (11) and expose electrical line at the A-pillar
8 Remove tie strap (13)
9 Disconnect electrical connector (12)
10 Expose electrical lines (16) from front to rear to the cable duct (17)
11 Remove panoramic roof water deflector
12 Pull seal (1) out of the groove (5) on the rear glass roof (2)
13 Mask off roof paneling at top, left and right using masking tape
14 Insert spacer blocks (7) into the side guide rails (6) of the outer support

15 Note the corresponding number and position of the spacer blocks (7)
16 Mark height of rear glass roof (2) with pencil (8) on spacer blocks (7).
17 Remove spacer blocks (7)
18 Determine gap in relation to rear window (10) with feeler gauge (9) and note

DANGER:
- Risk of injury from slipping when clamping the blade in the multicutter and from glass splinters when cutting out cemented window
- Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection.


19 Cut out rear panoramic glass roof (2)

NOTE: This will destroy the rear glass roof (2) which must be replaced.

20 Lift rear glass roof (2) until the electrical connectors (14) are accessible

NOTE: Reroute electrical lines (16).

21 Disconnect electrical connector (14) from solar module (15)
22 Remove rear glass roof (2)
23 Prepare rear panoramic glass roof (2) for installation

24 Insert spacer blocks (7) again into the side guide rails (6)

NOTE: Install spacer blocks in previously noted positions.

25 Apply glue to rear glass roof (2)

CAUTION: Install rear glass roof (2) within five minutes, before adhesive force of glue starts to decrease.

NOTE: Height of glue bead approx.13 mm

26 Lift rear glass roof (2) using suction cup above the roof cutout and reconnect the electrical connectors (14)

27 Lower rear glass roof (2) between the spacer blocks (7)

NOTE: Reroute electrical lines (16) when lowering.

28 Align rear glass roof (2) by pressing to the marks on the spacer blocks (7) and simultaneously adjust the gap with respect to the rear window (10)

CAUTION: In order to prevent adhesion faults, a curing time of approx.two hours must be observed.

29 Remove spacer blocks (7)

30 Remove suction cup from rear glass roof

31 Remove masking tape at the side paneling
32 Insert seal (1) at side into the groove (5)

NOTE: Align recess clearances (3, 4) of the seal (1) with respect to the corresponding locations on the rear glass roof (2).

33 Fold lip of rear window (10) upward at the edge of the rear glass roof (2)

34 Install panoramic roof wind deflector
35 Press electrical lines (16) from the rear to the front into the cable retainer
36 Connect electrical connector (12)
37 Provide tie strap (13)
38 Connect electrical connector (11) to the A-pillar

NOTE: Route electrical lines at the A-pillar.

39 Install headliner
40 Install paneling on rear panoramic glass roof (2)
41 Remove covering on rear seat and floor
42 Close panoramic roof
43 Check all gaps on panoramic roof

Gap dimension
- Height adjustment wind deflector/front glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Height adjustment front glass roof/rear glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Height adjustment rear glass roof/rear window: 5 (± 1) mm
- Wind deflector/front glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Rear glass roof/rear window: 5 (± 1) mm

NOTE: Adjust front glass roof if necessary.
