Sequence of a service inquiry
Via the SVC button on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) a change is made into the service mode.
In the SVC basic screen it is selected whether a new inquiry "Send New Request for Info service" or the option "View Info service of ..." should be carried out for looking at an earlier Info data record.
Using the rotary/push button on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) the selection is made and confirmed by pressing.
If a "Send New Request for Info service" is selected, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) transmits this inquiry via the MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) to the telecommunications control unit (N112). The E-call unit sends the request to the service provider via the existing telephone network.
The request is processed on the Internet on the basis of the personal information profile and sent to the vehicle via the telephone network.

The entry is pointed out to the user by a tone and the message "New Info Received!". The safety inquiry "Read Later When Stopped?" with the decision"Yes" or "No" is used for road safety. The selection "Yes" results in skipping back into the preceding menu (e.g. radio, CD, navigation).
By selecting "No" the messages are listed in accordance with personal preferences.
The messages can be read in sequence. By pressing the rotary/ push button on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) the system moves quickly on to the next message. The message is scrolled through by turning the rotary/push button. It is possible to jump back to the preceding menu at any time using the BACK button on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

The information that is received can be read page by page. It is not possible to jump straight to a particular page. The formatting can be modified by the operator.
