GF82.85-P-3004TU Data Exchange Between The Operating Unit And Instrument Cluster, Function
- with CODE (528) HIGH Class USA

Operation of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) on the multifunction steering wheel
Using the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110), the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) and the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) the following systems controlled via MOST can be operated and the information on the systems displayed:
^ Audio systems: radio (A2), CD changer (A2/6), etc.
^ Navigation system
^ Telecommunications system

The entire data exchange between the instrument cluster (A1) and the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) takes place via MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) and the interior CAN (CAN-B).

All the button operations on the multifunction steering wheel are read in voltage-coded by the steering column module (N80) and placed on the interior CAN (CAN-B). The instrument cluster (A1) detects the coded messages and via the multifunction display (A1p13) causes the presentation of the system which has just been activated or operated (audio, navigation, telephone).

In parallel with this, the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) picks up the commands for controlling the functions within the MOST system, converts these into light pulses and with them actuates the necessary system components.

The instrument cluster (A1) receives the current time from the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), as this time is received automatically via GPS and thus does not have to be adjusted.
