GF82.60-P-2002TU CD-Player Mode, Function

GF82.60-P-2002TU CD-Player Mode, Function
- with CODE (528) HIGH Class USA

CD player mode
CD player mode is initiated at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) in the "Audio" menu.
Using the function keys the audio source desired by the user can be selected here.
CDs can be played back via the multistandard drive or with the CD changer (A2/6). This is located in the center console recess below the operating unit. After entering, for example, an audio CD in the pull-in opening of the operating unit or of the CD changer (A2/6) the following functions are available to the user:
^ Select the CD opening in the CD changer (A2/6) and load CD
^ CD selection
^ track selection
^ Music search, forwards/backwards
^ Current playing time (of track or CD)
^ SCAN function
The music tracks are played for 8 seconds. At the end of the CD the CD changer (A2/6) automatically changes into the Play Forward mode or into the mode last set.
^ Random function
All the titles of a CD are played according to the random principle.
Once all the tracks of a CD have been played once, the next CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function is repeated until it is deactivated.
^ Repeat function
Alternatively a title, a CD or the entire CD magazine is repeated.

There are the following options in the "adjustments" menu:
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat CD
^ Select track mix

Only 12 cm CDs may be loaded into the CD changer (A2/6) and no 8 cm CD adapters may be used. Up to 6 CDs can be loaded.

The multistandard disk drive integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is suitable for reading both audio and MP3 CDs and CD-ROMs.

The control signals of the operating unit as well as the audio data of the CD changer (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) takes over signal conditioning and amplification.

CD title allocation function
Each CD contains a permanently stored TOC entry (Table of Contents). As a result the operating module detects the respective CD and can automatically designate this, after the single track assignment by the user (even if the CD is loaded into another CD magazine).
In addition the TOC entry contains information on the number of tracks on a CD and the total playing time.

If the vehicle is equipped with the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and code (810) sound system, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) must be coded accordingly using STAR DIAGNOSIS, otherwise faults can occur with the playback of audio signals.
