GF82.60-P-2002T CD-Player Mode, Function
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio

CD player mode
Audio CDs can be played with the multistandard drive of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56). With code (8199) 6-disc CD changer, audio CDs can be played with the CD changer (A2/6) which is located in the center console recess below the raido control panel and navigation unit (A2/56).

The system can be operated using the keypad on the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), the multifunction steering wheel or by means of the voice control system (VCS).

Only 12 cm CDs may be inserted into the CD changer (A2/6); it is not possible to use an 8 cm CD adapter. Up to 6 CDs can be loaded.

The control signals of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) as well as the audio data of the CD changer (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) takes over signal processing and amplification.

If the vehicle is equipped with the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and Code (810) Sound System, the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) must be coded accordingly using STAR DIAGNOSIS as otherwise problems can occur with the playback of audio signals.

CD player mode is initiated at the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) in the Audio/CD menu. After an audio CD has been inserted into the automatic slot of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or the CD changer (A2/6) the following functions are available to the user:
^ Selecting the CD slot in the CD changer (A2/6) and loading the CD
^ CD selection
^ Track selection
^ Forwards/backwards search
^ Current playtime (of track or CD)
^ Scan functions: the music tracks are played for 8 seconds. At the end of the CD the CD changer (A2/6) automatically changes into the Play Forward mode or into the mode last set.
^ Random function: all tracks on a CD are played randomly. Once all the tracks of a CD have been played once, the next CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function is repeated until it is deactivated.
^ Repeat function: either a track, a CD or the entire CD magazine is repeated.

There following are possible in the "Adjustments" menu:
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat CD
^ Select track mix

CD title allocation, function
Every CD has a permanently stored Table of Contents (TOC) entry. As a result, the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) recognizes the particular CD, and is able to automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine). The TOC record additionally contains information regarding the number of titles on a CD and the CD's total playing time.
