Interior Lights Permanently Lit After Anti-theft Alarm (ATA) Activation

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the interior lights remaining permanently lit after the Anti-theft Alarm (ATA) has been activated, the rear signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) may need to be replaced.

The software in the rear SAM allows the controller area network (CAN) to go to sleep~ during sounding of the ATA alarm. As a result, the visual alarm is terminated too soon, additionally the interior lights are not switched off. Part numbers of the affected rear SAM are as follows:

^ A211 545 34 01

^ A211 545 35 01

^ A211 545 36 01

To resolve, replace rear SAM with the part numbers listed in the Parts Information section or with a higher part number revision.
