GF82.30-P-0003PQ Wiper System (WSA), Function

GF82.30-P-0003PQ Wiper System (WSA), Function

MODEL 203.0 /2 /7 as of 24.4.04 up to Model Year 8

The wiper system (WS) is operated using the combination switch (S4). The wiper level selected at the combination switch (S4) is transmitted from the steering column module (N80) over the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) then controls the wiper system (WSA) for the windshield.

The following functions are possible:

Wiping
- Touch wipe:
Push combination switch (S4) to detent point.

- Wiping at slow speed:
Combination switch (S4) in position "II".

- Wiping at fast speed:
Combination switch (S4) in position "III".

Intermittent wipe
On vehicles without code (345a) rain sensor, turning the combination switch (S4) to position "I" (windshield) causes the wipers to function with a fixed intermittent time.

Automatic wiper control
On vehicles without code (345a) rain sensor, turning the combination switch (S4) to position "I" (windshield) causes the wipers to function depending on the intensity of the rain (automatic control of intermittent or continuous wiping).

Wash
the windshield is wiped with additional washing water. Push combination switch (S4) beyond detent point.

Additional functions on model 203.2:
The wiper system (WS) is operated using the combination switch (S4). The wiper level selected at the combination switch (S4) is transmitted from the steering column module (N80) over the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) then controls the wiper system (WSA) for the rear window.

The following functions are possible:

Intermittent wipe
On vehicles without code (345a) rain sensor, turning the combination switch (S4) 5 to position "I" (windshield) causes the wipers to function with a cycle time of 5 sec.

Wash
Turning to and holding the combination switch (S4) in position "I" (rear window) causes washer fluid to be sprayed on the rear window while the wiper is operating.

Automatic functions for the windshield wiper system (WSA), depending on the position of the combination switch (S4):

Reverse wiping
When the combination switch (S4) is in position "II" or "III", the rear window is wiped continuously while the vehicle is being driven backwards.

Rain sensor operation on vehicles with code (345a) rain sensor:
When the combination switch (S4) is in position "I" (windshield), the wiper system (WSA) for the rear window is actuated analog to the wiper system (WSA) for the windshield.
