MODEL 203.0 /2 /7
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
- up to Model Year 8
In the event of a crash the system operates automatically.
The system is activated manually by pushing the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3). This can be the case in emergency situations of if an accident is observed. Activation of the emergency call system is shown by the flashing red LED in the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3). If there is no answer from the occupants when the emergency center calls the vehicle, a search and rescue mission by the local emergency team is started immediately. If the emergency call system cannot establish a connection to the emergency center or the telematics SIM is not authorized, the system automatically dials "911" and tries to establish a hands-free conversation connection. In this case there is no data transfer via SMS.
SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3)
The SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) is covered with a protective lid labeled in red. The lid is labeled SOS. Pressing the protective lid unlocks the lid, and it automatically opens with the aid of a spring mechanism. If the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) is operated for longer than 0.5 s, the system is activated.
MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6)
The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) is located in the center console next to the UPCI (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) holder (A34/15). The system is activated by pressing the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) for longer than 0.5 s. Activation of the system is indicated by the flashing LED in the buttons. When the button is operated, an SMS is transmitted automatically.
